The German Protestant church Deutsche Evangelische Christuskirche is located on Montepelier Place in the heart of Knightsbridge and has been described as the most significant German Church in London. (In 1946 its congregation were largely German refugees fleeing the Nazi occupation).

Leopold’s Christening ceremony included readings from each of the Godparents, and traditional German hymns sung by the choir. So as a Christening photographer I had some beautiful moments to capture!

Jacob's Christening Photography | St Giles the Abbot Church | Farnborough Village | Bromley

Jacob’s Christening took place on a beautiful sunny morning at the popular Anglican church of St Giles the Abbot in Farnborough. Farnborough is less than 2 miles from Orpington, and within the London Borough of Bromley, as it has since the creation of Greater London in 1965. The church is popular amongst the local community and is a friendly and diverse place, offering many services.

Jacob and his parents, Godparents and friends and family were all there to witness this baby boy’s Christening and South London Christening photographer Christine Constantine mingled discreetly among them and took some natural pictures.

Christening Party at Chapter One Restaurant, Orpington

Alex Christening Day | St Mary's Greek Orthodox Church | The Penridge Suite | London

Baby Alex accompanied by his Godparents, older brother and Mum and Dad was christened at the beautiful St Mary’s Orthodox Church on Trinity Road in North London. As it was also his Dad’s 40th birthday a double celebration was in order - and the family partied the night away with their friends and family at popular North London venue The Penridge Suite. St Mary's Greek Orthodox Church Christening Photography | Camberwell | South London

St Mary’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral is one of the oldest Greek Orthodox Church in South London. It was originally built for the Catholic Church in 1876, and the original structure was much larger than it is today. Sadly much of it was destroyed in the Second World War. In 1963 it was taken over by the Greek Orthodox Church and as a Greek Orthodox Christening Photographer based in nearby Clapham, I was delighted to be asked to capture baby Tommy’s Christening there. Here are my favourite images from the day..

Theo's Greek Orthodox Christening Photography | Greek Orthodox Church St Barnabas | North London

The very first Christening I shot when I was back in London was for adorable little Theo and his family. Due to Covid restrictions numbers were limited so only close family and friends were present. We initially met at the parents house for some pre-Christening family photographs. After a relaxed baptism at St Barnabas Greek Orthodox Church in Wood Green, I managed to get some nice shots afterwards outside the church and our small group made our way to Theo’s Yiayia’s house for food and an absolutely awesome Christening cake!

An Eritrean Catholic Christening in South London | Clapham | London

I hadn’t been into St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Clapham before so it was a wonderful opportunity to visit this church that had been part of my neighbourhood for many years. It was a beautiful and very special Catholic Christening for the newest addition to my clients who are of Eritrean descent. Having never shot an Eritrean Catholic Christening this was a real treat for me and reminded me of why I love living in South London so much. After the baptism we headed to local Eritrean restaurant Adulis in Oval for food and dancing and I was also treated to a traditional Eritrean coffee making ceremony which very much forms part of any Eritrean special occasion. The food was warm and the guests/family even warmer. Had such a lovely day with them. Here are my favourite pictures from the day.
